Rob,
I stumbled across your site. Great photos and interesting stuff.

I'm stoked that you had a good time in Palau and hope to see you down here again. In the islands its never "goodbye" its always "we'll see later."

Surfed last week with my friend Bill on the West Side. Small but fun waves. Season's almost here.

Rob, I had promised you a CD of Palau surfing pictures. Could you let me know where to send it. There are tons of surf pictures on it so let me know your mailing address.

Oh yeah, if this e-mail address doesn't work, please try semdiu@hotmail.com

Cheers,
Semdiu

Hi Rob,

I am (or was) the 18 year old kid who helped you, Jerry Barnard and Willie Roberson when you came to Vancouver, BC Canada in 1977 as Harvest and played at a few churches. I met you guys at Granville Chapel and helped you with your gear at a couple of gigs. We had dinner together one night at Denny's. When it was time to leave town you guys gave me a copy of Harvest's eponymous album which you all signed.

I've been aware that you were in Hawaii for a long time now, and have thought of you often over the years. Just found your website and wanted to say hi. May you and your family be blessed always.

Hi Rob,
Just a note to say I miss hearing you play. I met you last summer in Oceanside and you played at the harbor and the Thai place. It was very synchronistic at the time and I appreciated your coming over to introduce yourself. Since then I traveled the carribean and now in Newport RI..A friend of mine has just opened music hall and hoped you may wat to play ther in Western Connecticut.. Infinity is the namce of the company. I am working in a marine oriented bookstore with charts etc. Love to hear how things are and if you may want to come up this way to play.

I haven't heard any of your music...lately at least. But I remember a day driving down to Sunset Surfboards in Encinitas, listening to Christopher Cross songs in an old Isuzu pick-up on our way to order some fresh surfboards from the master himself, Ed Wright. I still have the board (neon pink cross)but life is full and it hasen't touched the water for a few years now. Bless you Rob!

Rob,
Greetings! Someone left a note on my web site saying you have a cool baseball song, "Me & Willie Mays". In honor of the start of the season, I'm playing a few baseball tunes on this week's show, I thought that would be perfect to throw into the mix. If you can, e-mail it to me, and I'll try to get it on Monday night's show.
Keep me posted on any new releases. Love your music!!
Thanks,
DK

March 4, 2007

Aloha Rob!

I have a big grin on my face because I took your words seriously from your song "Back to Kauai" and Zanna and I just returned from a wonderful vacation there. I'll send you a flick overlooking Hanalei Bay taken from our room's balcony. You'll see your CD "Could you be more... PACIFIC" in the foreground of that picture.

It was fitting that as we toasted our return, your music was playing in the background. Afterall, it was your music at that concert in San Carlos-Mexico and your words of encouragement to keep my dreams alive that awakened that dream of mine to return to Kauai.

It had been over 23 years since we last visited Kauai. The Kalalau Trail was as inspiring as ever though we didn't go as far as the Hanakapi'ia Trail. But still, "... Oh God, it was so nice!".

Mahalo Rob.

February 22, 2007

Hola Rob, Just to remind you, I am a friend of Mark's in San Carlos. You, my wife Queta, Gary, and I drank a few beers on my boat before walking her to a better anchorage for the concert. I was surprised to see how much you are in So Cal, I assumed you were strictly Hawaii. We are in the area often and will try and make one of your gigs. I really enjoyed meeting you and hope to see you soon. Frank & Queta

February 12, 2007

Aloha Rob!
I told you this past weekend at the Russ Chase Benefit concert that I would e-mail you some photos, but I actually have alot of photos that I think you'd be interested in. Several are of alot of the other people you know. I think it will take way too long to e-mail them to you, so if you want to send me your address, I'll copy them all to a photo cd for you and
mail them to you.

We leave in 9 days for 8 days down in Cabo at the Sol-Mar. We'll probably head out to Los Barriles and Cabo Pulmo over on the East Cape again. We have to spend more time out there before it gets built up, which seems to be happening, unfortunately. Then the same day we fly home to Seattle, we fly out that night to Florida! Heading to Daytona for Bike Week 2007. Todd races motocross, so Bike Week is like the Motorcycle world's MOTMs! We attend both the Daytona and the Orlando Supercrosses, plus many other races--superbike, flat-track, etc. We attended Bike Week '05, and it was just great! Had a blast! Anyway, if I don't get to transfer all those photos to a cd for you and mail it out before we go, I'll get to it after we return.

Anyway, it was sooo great talking with you this past weekend. And we're still enjoying all of your cds! I love your music and your happy attitude! And I love the fact that you love so many of the same things that I love. There are so many crossovers--tropical music and places, each of the Hawai'ian islands, the East Cape/Los Barriles, Buffett AND The Beach Boys, Rosarito, new and old Hawai'ian music, and of course, Key West and the beautiful Florida Keys! You know about all the best things in life! Mahalo nui loa for all your great music--please keep it up!
Me ke aloha, Debbie Hess

Rob - Great show at the Yacht Club Saturday night. Terrific music and a bonus with the Christmas parade of lights sailing by behind you in the windows. So fitting that as you were singing “Walk On The Beach”, the yacht sailing by in the parade was lit up with a pair of palm trees instead of Christmas trees! What a night! We’ll be down for more.

Hey Rob, nice new look to the pages here!!Just need to bring to your attention something that is so often mistaken in a picture for a "sunset". (see photos) When I have friends (i.e. Gary Seiler) down to our home South of San Felipe and pictures are taken as the sun comes up out of the water you are looking at a sunRISE. We on the "left" coast are so used to sunSET over the water that the BEAUTIFUL sunrises over the Sea of Cortez are often looked at in a picture and assumed to be a sunset.
Just had to point that out...........
Hope to catch one of your shows soon!!

Love the look of the new web page!! More importantly...I can't believe you are going to be doing the updates yourself!! Proud of you, Rob!

Wish I had been at the Canners last night to hear your show...maybe Patti and I can make the trek up some Monday. You can add all the covers you want...but nothing compares to your original songs...much better than any covers you could come up with - obscure or not!! Keep up the good work.

Nice new look Rob! Your schedule is filling up and it's all going to work out great! There may be some angels behind you pushing (oh, I meant cheering) all the way! ; ) Luv ya Patti
